We were honoured to be asked to contribute to the Massed Choirs at the spectacular opening of Liverpool's European City of Culture celebrations, and have recently featured on television in BBC's advent show "Christmas Voices" with Lesley Garrett. We have also contributed to the music for the comedy feature film Chicken Tikka Massala. In June 2005 the choir made history by taking part in the in the recording of The Best Gospel Album In the World Ever...! at Abbey Road studios London. This is the first gospel album ever to be released by a Major UK label - EMI. In August 2008 the choir enjoyed a long-awaited expeditionary tour in Germany.
One Voice Community Choir divides its time between charitable and paid engagements, and is rapidly gaining professional status. They are available as a full mixed choir or in reduced sections for smaller venues. The choir are experienced in performing at Church and Civil Wedding ceremonies and christening celebrations. All who have heard them have been thrilled by the joy and rapture that One Voice Community Choir's song brings to their special event.
The Choir's success is due to inspired leadership of Tyndale Thomas M.B.E. - a leading exponent of UK gospel music and a dedicated professional who has supported, performed and recorded with internationally acclaimed artists such as Stevie Wonder and Nina Simone. Under his guidance, One Voice Community Choir have blossomed into a truly memorable choral talent whose voices have added an abundance of spirituality and joy to the weddings, christenings and concerts at which they have been priviliged to perform.
